Background
Experience Matters.
I began working at KAMC 28, the ABC affiliate in late 1994. I was still a full time student at Texas Tech University, but I was studying communications. I was barely 22 years old when I began and 23 when I won my first award. I learned a ton of skills and failed a lot of classes.
I worked in Lubbock tv for about 3.5 years and had one class left to graduate. I was offered a big opportunity, so I left Tech and moved to San Antonio. I began my job at KSAT 12 in January 1998. While I was working there under the job title of Photojournalist/Editor I was part of 3 different teams that won Emmy awards. More importantly, once the internet was well established, I went on to finish my degree online.

Eighteen years after I started college, I finally had a bachelor’s degree to show for it. A handful of years later I went back to Texas Tech online and earned a master’s in Strategic Communication & Innovation. With just under 30 years of real world experience in tv news I began teaching at San Antonio College.

Work Ethic Matters More.
The first thing I teach my students is something I learned from my Pops when I was about 10 years old. It’s something I live by. He told me “Son, there ain’t nothin’ worth havin’ that ain’t worth workin’ for.” I am not afraid to put in the work. That’s why I registered a business with Bexar county and began freelancing. I specialize in creative and affordable video production. It is always my goal to beat the project deadline and come in under budget. I got my first camera in the early 1980’s, and to my knowledge, I have always been a photographer. My passion for landscapes is evident my fine art photography, but I’m also capable of shooting photos for whatever your needs may be. I offer comprehensive training in shooting and editing video, where I share best practices I learned working 3 decades in tv news, and have perfected in the 3.5 years I have been an adjunct professor teaching television courses at San Antonio College.
My determination, know-how and artistic vision drive everything that I do ensuring high-quality results for every project.

Producing Excellence
I shot and edited video for the news for decades. Every different news event you can imagine. I grew in both skill and along with the evolving technologies that came with my time in television. That led me to start my freelance company in ’06. It used to be called Special Assignments digital productions. Too long right?
